The Riding Club at Casperey Stables is a top notch horse riding lesson program designed to be fun, safe, and innovative. All of our horseback riding programs are instructed and learning based. We focus on complete horsemanship and developing effective riders who respect and care for these noble animals.
The goal of Casperey Stables is to help the rider reach for their dreams whether it’s to ride confidently for pleasure or to win in the show ring. You can choose from group or private riding lessons in many disciplines. Once you have achieved the level of independent rider, you may choose to enjoy practice rides or leasing one of our show horses.
All of our instructors are also competitors in their area of expertise. We currently offer general horsemanship, Hunter/Jumper, Huntseat, Dressage, and Western riding for all level riders.
Below are descriptions of each of the types of riding lessons Casperey Stables offers.
This is for first time riders or beginner riders new to Casperey Stables. We’ll go over basic safety in and out of the saddle, teach you how to groom and saddle and get you started on the ins and outs of becoming a safe, balanced, and effective rider.

Group Lessons are an easy and more affordable way to progress in your riding skills while enjoying the company of the other riders in your group. We put riders of similar ability in the same groups. There are three age groups: Colts for the 7-10 year old crowd, Mustangs for the 11-17 riders, and Mavericks for those 18 and up. A group can be as few as 2 riders for the basic/beginner levels and up to 6 for the more advanced riders. Group lessons are not available for riders under 7 years who will learn safely from the one on one attention given in private lessons.

For the rider who has become independent in their grooming, tacking, and basic riding skills as well as those with their own horse (includes leased horses). This allows the student more riding time than the regular private lesson above and better utilizes the instructor’s time for teaching the more advanced rider.

Also for the independent rider, these rides are for extra practice or just relaxed riding time. They can be added into your monthly riding lesson package or scheduled as desired. You must be in a regular horseback riding lesson program to be eligible for practice rides.

This is a combo lesson/trail ride. All riding is with the instructor. Guests are instructed and helped with grooming and tacking, then spend 15-20 minutes in the ring going over basics of their position and balance, and control of the horse. This is followed by another 20 – 30 minutes riding through the trails on our property. Minimum 2 riders, maximum 6 riders.

These 30 minute hands-on learning sessions are for the littlest horse lovers, those under 4 years old. The instructor will have the child help with brushing and putting on the saddle then lead him or her on the pony while offering simple instruction. It's a fun way to get your little one started horsing around while staying on their level
